Sound Card for HT Receiver, and Headphones.

Hey Guys,

Wondering if I could get some help choosing a new soundcard. I'm looking for something to output a full range of dolby options to my AVR-590 receiver, and I'm also looking to do headphone output via, Soundcard --> Darkvoice 337 --> Headphones. I'm still kind of new to this stuff, regardless of my owning the equipment, so any help would be really great.

I use my Headophones for gaming, so I'd like to be using Dolby Headphone or X-FI CMSS3D for that, and I also watch DVD's and Blu-rays through my PC, so I would like to feed that sound to my receiver. There is no major price limit set.

Thanks guys!

You might want to try the ASUS Xonar Essence ST or STX version.  ST is the PCI and the STX is the PCIe version.

It's rated very highly around these parts.

You can modify the Op-amps to suite your tastes as well if you want to go down that path.

If your interested I will have mine for sale, only 1 week old (upgrading to a Burson HA-160D Dac/Amp).

Yeah, the Xonar is one of the cards I've been looking at, alongside the Auzentech X-FI HomeTheater HD. If you PM me with your location, we might be able to work something out? Cheers mate!
