Agreed. Clif bars are rather tasty. Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip are my two favorites.

I like to toast English muffins, then spread a little butter and peanut butter on them. Not too bad in terms of calories and very satisfying.

If visiting Paris, there is nothing like grabbing a fresh croissant from an outdoor vender. Quick and cheap.

In New York, you have to love the hotdogs on the street corners.

In Southern California, the great tacos.

In Asia, the stunningly good cheap street food of course.

Ok, I'm sounding like Anthony Bourdain.

I don't even bother closing the bag anymore, I just leave it open. Tastes the same two months down the road.

What are the best foods for me to eat as i am currently loosing weight? Rice? Also should i eat the same thing 3 times a day? My uncle joined a program at Beaumont that was $1400 and all it was were drinks to substitute for breakfast and lunch.

Weight loss is simply a matter of calories in and calories out. Google the Hacker's Diet for a good explanation.

Cut out anything fried, sugar, salt, and refined flours. No soda, even diet. Switch to water, black coffee, unsweetened tea, and soda water. Fruit juice has about as many calories as soda does. Cut it out. Get rid of dairy, too. It has a lot of calories.

Eat bulky vegetables. They're filling and low in calories. Have fruit if you want something sweet or a snack. Keep portions of meat small. The rule of thumb is not to eat a piece bigger than your palm. But it really helps to go semi-vegetarian. I'll have meat two or three times a week. I won't argue that humans aren't supposed to eat meat, but you don't need it every day.

I know this works because I went from 260 to around 150-155. I did that in 2008-2009 and it has stayed off. I need to go back at it since I should reallybe around 135-140. At the peak, I was dropping 8-10 pounds a month. It's a real adjustment for the first month. Then you adapt to the new diet and realize that being a little hungry isn't the end of the world. If you're up to it, fast for a day or two. We're designed to survive for awhile without food, so taking a day off won't hurt you. The hunger goes away and you actually feel good. I still try to do it once a week.

Thanks, so far im about 1.5 weeks into my gym membership and ive lost 9 pounds. I was at 244 but now im at 235, but i need to get down to at least 180. I'd love to be around 200 by the beginning of September (school starts). Im not a big pop person, but i might have a Sprite once maybe twice a month. I tried to fast a few nights ago, but its hard because i work out every night, so it feels better if i have something in my stomach. Ill definitely have more carrotsbiggrin.gif
