Detroit Area Meet at Jude's Office - Page 7

I hate to tell you this, but warp08 and I were the first to hear his prototype...in Chicago.  biggrin.gif

It's absolutely worth hearing, btw...

(He said he'll stay at a hotel on Friday night with his wife Grace and show up nice and early.)

That's awesome Adam! I think I'll bring my RP010B too to make a comparison. I am really interested in the Dark Star as a potential replacement for the Rudi.

The Meet is just a couple of days away, so here are a couple of last-minute points/reminders:

  • Please bring power strips and extension cords.  I bought a bunch for the last meet at my office, but, after a massive cleanup, I can't find all of them.  So, please, bring power strips and extension cords, as the outlets in my office are spaced somewhat far apart.
  • Please bring power strips and extension cords.  I bought a bunch for the last meet at my office, but, after a massive cleanup, I can't find all of them.  So, please, bring power strips and extension cords, as the outlets in my office are spaced somewhat far apart.  Yes, I know,  just posted this twice, but it's an important point.
  • Please do not arrive any earlier than 0900.  I will probably not be arriving much earlier than five or ten minutes before 0900, so arriving 0900 or after would be good.
  • I'm going to get us pizza for lunch.  If you have special dietary requirements that make pizza unacceptable for you personally (like if you're a vegan, or if you simply can't stand pizza), please PM me to let me know.
  • If you still need the address to my office, please PM me.

I'm looking forward to seeing all you again!

I was thinking that I might have some extra power strips and extension cords to bring.  Would that be helpful?  ;)

Well then. I guess I don't have to bring anything after all.

Ah, heck, I will anyway. Not sure what that is, yet.

But for non-electronic gear, I'm planning on bringing two containers of coffee from Zingerman's. Each container is good for about a dozen cups. Both will be caffeinated (although probably different flavors). If you'd rather that one of them is decaf instead, speak up within the next day.

Tom, good point. Please bring source components, everyone. I'll have two Lavry DA11 DACs, an iStreamer, the Fostex HP-P1 and the Cypher Labs Algorhythm Solo. That's pretty much all I'll have on hand for sources.

ardgedee, that's very generous of you, man. My opinion is caffeine all the way. biggrin.gif

I still need to put together my list...ugh!

I can bring my Wadia if needed, but it will require tearing apart my whole living room at a time when we're trying to sell our house (and move to something bigger!!) and will incurr the wrath of my wife.

I will certainly bring various computer audio DACS.  I will also bring two selector boxes with multiple outs so that we can hook up more than one rig per source.

I'll be bringing my BLA UFX DAC as well, and that has 8 channels of output (12 if you count the HPA outs), so I might be able to hook people up with some quality source as well.  I'll also be bringing my DACS Headlite2 amp, which has 4 SE outputs, bass-heavy K1000s to work the Dark Star out a bit, and a full line of our cables (fresh off the bench from Battle Creek).

I'm still planning to bring the ERC-2/XDA-1 combo, so that will give us some more source stuff. I'll bring a few cords/strips too.

I can bring my Parasound DAC, but I don't have any SPDIF source for it. Let me know if I should bring ti anyway.

Otherwise, I'll be bringing DT880 vintage and HD580.

EDIT: I plan on coming as well if possible.

I PM'd Jude and Thread.

Thanks

I can't wait to hear some of that gear!

I will bring my NAD CDP and analog stereo cables...if anyone has coaxial cables to maybe combine this with a DAC, that would be cool...

I'll also bring along Sennheiser HD650, ATH-M50, and PS Audio GCHA amp.

I can bring my monoprice SPDIF cable and my parasound DAC. It's got PCM63's in it if you're interested.
