Detroit Area Meet at Jude's Office - Page 6

I was just looking at that DAC today. It is more of a 'down-the-road' thing for me (just got the Emotiva DAC), but I am definitely interested in how it sounds.

The Havana single ended list price is $859 and will be selling it to us at $779 and the Havana Balanced lists price is $1,149 and our price will be $1,039.

I just received a balanced unit he sent me to show and use at the meet. I listen to it for a little bit last week end and I really like what I heard specially at the price point. That unit will be avaliable at the end of the meet if somebody is interested.

Bagels? Someone said Bagels? Lets see, Detroit is only about 600 miles.

Yep. I am bringing the Emotiva DAC and CD player. It's easier to move than my computer, and I am having RAID issues. RAID issues that prevent me from getting to the 60-70 CDs I ripped to FLAC. Grrr....

That's real nice of you guys.  I'll get lunch and drinks.  (We usually do pizza, so if you have dietary requirements that rule pizza out for you--or if you have any other special dietary requirements--please PM me.)

Might be too early to ask this, but what's the expected headcount?

I scanned the thread and added the names to the first post of this thread.  Really, the maximum we could do at my office would be 20, and that'd be pushing it.  Including those who appear to be tentative attendees, I think we're currently at 15, which is what we've capped it at before.

Hey Adam, is Ray Samuels attending? It would be great if he can make it and give us an update (demo) of the Dark Star biggrin.gif

Ooo...Dark Star. That would be really cool.

Ray's attendance would be a treat!

If Ray can attend with Dark Star in tow, I feel compelled to reiterate my call for an HE-6 amplifier shootout. Head-fi'ers have been attacking the problem of how to power it from different angles, and this might be a rare opportunity to have them all in the same room to compare.

There will be at least two HE-6 phones at the meet: mine and musicman59's

musicman59 has offered to bring his Pass aleph. I can bring a couple vintage receivers. wotts, are you able to bring your B22? Has somebody got a Lyr to try?...

I have a Lyr.

I'll bring the b22, and my HE-6 too. I do like that combo, but I think the phones deserve more power. Time to build a balanced one... :)

I independently realized we hadn't heard from Ray yet, so I just gave him a call. He is coming! And we get to be the first to hear his new Dark Star prototype, too. :D

(He said he'll stay at a hotel on Friday night with his wife Grace and show up nice and early.)
