Mixamp help

Hello,

So I received my wireless Mixamp today after 3 weeks of waiting (Yeah I live in Kuwait) and when I opened the box I couldn't wait to try the sound quality difference. But then realized that neither my HDTV nor my laptop (G73JH Asus) have TOSLINK digital cable :(

Will this fix the laptop problem? http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/sound-cards/audio-advantage-micro-ii.aspx

Hope I don't have to buy a new TV to get this working T_T

Thanks in advance guys :)

The Mixamp has a USB input doesn't it?  Doesn't it also have analog RCA inputs?  Have you tried any of these?  They should work.

Also, you should be plugging the Mixamp into the source, like the PS3/360 or whatever you're using it with.  It should have an optical out...most things do.

Btw.. I don't understand why I even need to connect anything to my shitty TV! the sound should go directly from my PS3 to the mixamp Tx to Rx right?!mad.gif

It does have a USB input. no RCA though. http://www.astrogaming.com/manuals/MixAmp58_Manual.pdf

the mixamp is currently connected to my PS3 through toslink optical cable. Out from ps3 IN the Tx.

Okay nevermind, seems like the USB wire for voice chat was the problem. removed it and it worked. ignore the part about my TV. I need a fix for the laptop problem only.

Thanks again
