The tips of the Mexican Pointy Boot secrete a poison that can be used to repel the enemies of the peaceful Pointy Boot, allowing the Pointy Boot to escape back to his hutch and brood of Bootlings. 

 

EDIT: Also, the user of the Mexican Pointy boot should exercise caution and not overuse the Pointy Boot, since the defensive poison is toxic to humans, and can seep into the body through the interior spines of the Pointy Boot. After extensive use, the toxin can cause extreme and irreversible mental impairment.

Pointy boots are much older than 1 year, although not taken to the same extreme as shown here. IIRC the style had some popularity in the 60/70's in england.

 

Its interesting either way :)

I see that some of the pointy boots have curled-up toes.  When will they add tinkly bells to the curls?

 

I came here to see if anyone had made a "roaches in the corners" joke, but no one has.

These pointy toes don't have the strength to effectively kill a roach. They're all style.
