Ray Samuels "Dark Star" Initial Impressions - Chicago MiniMeet May14, 2011 - Page 4

I am thoroughly looking forward to hearing more about the Dark Star - it sounds very impressive. I ordered the HR-2 - an older amp of Ray's - something within my price range but reading the above review - I wish I had the money for something like the dark star - Though that is in NO way diminishing the HR-2 - which i can't wait to get hold of...

looks nice. no internal pics though. and it is just for orthos (HE6, LCD2). seems of pretty limited use.

With lower gain that of 11, the DarkStar can drive all the Sennheiser, 300 ohms, all the AKGs & all the hard to drive Beyers with utmost ease.

I listen to the Dark Star at the last Detroit meet using my HE-6 and it sounds fantastic. I just sent an email to Ray taking one of those special priced 10 units.
