I need help selecting a DAC to finish my digital setup. Right now I'd be going to a Head-Direct EF1 to HD650s. My budget is ~$400. I listen to rock, blues, and jazz. I would also like to plug it into my PS3 for gaming, which uses the same amp/headphone setup.
When researching for this almost two years ago, my answer was the Cambridge Audio DACMagic. I haven't been keeping up since then, since I haven't had the money. Is there anything else that is better now? How about something with tubes? I have an irrational love for tubes.
