Hi,

I have a T70 on hand right now and it sounds great from my HRT HeadStreamer. You have plenty of power on tap it sounds and I have yet to get clipping, even at insanely loud volumes.

Zombie_X thanks for the review, Just finished listening to it.

I got the T70, totally by accident and I am really liking them but I find myself always comparing them to my memory of T1. Can you briefly do that for me, plz ? Thanks

Also, let me use this opportunity to also thank you for leading me to headfi. I had read a review of your T1 on Amazon which brought me here and I have never left.

Hi,

No problem man, glad you liked the review and happy my T1 review guided you to Head-Fi. Are you having a good time here at all?

The T1 and T70 sound different from each other. The T1 being warmer and more musical while the T70 is dryer and more neutral. Also the T70 has more treble and less mids than the T1. The T1's mids and treble are more refined than the T70's but it seems they are close when it comes to bass tightness and clarity. The T1 does have more bass though.

I like the T70 for electronic music as well as some acoustic music while with the T1 I sue it with everything.

Yes, I am having a blast but my wallet not so much biggrin.gif

I did get the T1 after the review and ran it with PS audio DLIII> GCHA . I do enjoy the T70 with acoustic stuff and yes T1 went with everything which is why I  liked it. I traded my T1 for HD800 and really miss it which is why I am thinking of picking it up again. I am not getting as much use out of the HD800 as I did the T1. Seems that T1 might be a little more forgiving in terms of bad files or poor recording.

Thanks for taking the time

Yo fellow T70 owners,

Have you guys noticed how the treble/mids on the T70 is presented differently from other beyers? The treble is well extended with a slight edge to it. The mids are there but a pushed back a tad from the treble. The treble has this odd presentation to it that makes it sound, how do I say, throaty. Not congested but more realistic and defined. I kind describe the exact coloration in the sound but all the vocals make the signer sound like they way liquid in their throat. I've not heard this on another headphone before.

The T70 surpasses the DT770/250Ohm in every way. The treble on these is really good, way better than the DT770's. The mids are fuller and right there hitting you in the face, the bass is also improved over the DT770. They are however pretty overpriced at $500. I think they are quite a bit improved, but not enough to be $500. I always rated the DT770 to be around $200 at full value, but these are easily around $300.

What do you guys think about my assessment?

I brought  mine at $400 but I have seem them at $380. At that price it is well worth it with the very realistic treble and the great sound isolation and comfortable to wear.

Hi,

Amazon.com has the for $368 right now, but I got a better deal from beyerdynamic so Amazon was out of the question.

I had just now purchased these, used ($306), off Amazon.  Description says that the packaging is beat up (don't care), but the phones are in excellent condition.  I'm receiving the 250ohm version and will do tests with it connected to the Fiio E9.  I also am going to compare it to the DJX-1 and my other latest one the DT770M.

Can't wait, should be a week from now...

Should I sell of my DT770 Pro 250-Ohm and buy a lightly used T70 for $300?

What headphone amplifiers bring out the best in the T70?

I think you should :-)

But mind you, the T70 is a very different headphone. It's tonal balance is not lightyears from ER4S, though the two are different in many other ways. T70 has got very good soundstage/layering and is not monitor-like at all (like er4 is).

I love my T70 with Isabellina HPA LFP-V Edition. T70 is a very transparent headphone, and it will show you every single component in your setup. I'd say that the source is first and most important. I generally like NOS sound and I think it goes very well with T70. Then comes the amp, and I like a clean amp. It doesn't have to be very powerful. That's my experience after all... If anything, maybe an amp that helps bring out the beautiful midrange even more (i use mullard nos tube in isabellina).

I never had the 250ohm dt770 (had the 600ohm manufaktur, and I find T70 to be a nice upgrade), but my guess is that you will find T70 to be a step up over all. But you will also notice that bass is more on the lean side, still much better defined.

Oh Yeah!!!  Just received mine yesterday, after a 3hr session, these are absolute PERFECTION in my eyes.  The highs, at least to my ears, seem to match the DT880 600ohm, ridiculously smooth and detailed - a resolution that matches an open-back variant almost had me gasping for air!  I couldn't believe it!

I've tried it with the E9 and the E6 - the E6 sounds more lively and strangely, can get louder even though it doesn't put out nowhere near the power of the E9.  I have the E6 on the blue setting (which enhances the midrange) and it just sounds so buttery and astonishingly clear.  I also cheat as well by upping the bass just a tad for more quantity - however I didn't need to boost the below 40hz on the Eq because the can brings out the deep bass all on it's own, it just needed an extra push overall in the bass region.  Rap, Hip-Hop, it all bumps with authority.  I have the 250ohm version as well, and amazingly, without an amp, it still sounds loud and clear plugged directly into to G2 phone (Android with Poweramp music app).

I wouldn't hesistate, and would jump on the many used offers on Amazon right now (like I did) and enjoy, if you need more bass though an Eq will deliver.

I actually have them in my cart, along with the square deal warranty.  I'm just concerned that these may be a bit too light in the bass department for me.  I think I'm going to wait and see what the t90 has to offer.

My T70s arrived 2 hours ago, tested them with the Fiio E6, E11, Essence STX and O2.

The E6 can drive them decently, the E11 drives them a little louder then the E6, O2 & STX drive them easily.

The T70s are now my new #1 headphones, time to sell off my Dt770s and ATH-A900X.

Hello PurpleAngel

What's it like in comparison to what you currently have? I decided to go for the Pro 900s and regret it. I'm so used to the sound of my Beyer DT1350, I love the mids, bass and clear sound. I found the Pro 900s veiled, lacking mids far too much. The mids bothered me too much. It really ruined the music experience for me.

I'm now looking again at the T70 (non p) to replace the Pro 900s but it's the T70s bass section which is holding me back. Any opinions on it's bass in comparison to other headphones you have tried?

Thanks.

How is the treble with the STX? I already had the STX before but with different headphones. Now i'm considering one for my T90 and Shure 1840. The T90 has the beyerpeak which i don't want to accentuate further. I remember the STX having a bit too much treble.
