JVC HA-FXC80 IEMs - Impressive SQ for the price

I recently bought myself a pair of JVC HA-FXC80 IEMs as a sub for my excellent Panasonic HJE900 IEMs when I'm out cycling. The Panasonics set me back £200 at the London Apple retail store and the SQ of them are absolutely beautiful. However I couldn't my ears when I tried on my recently bought JVC HA-FXC80. The SQ of them through my Sony S639F is very close to the SQ of the Panasonic HJE900 through the same DAP and what is even more unbelievable is that they only set me back £30. The highs on the JVC IEMs are very similar to my Panasonics and so too are the mids but I feel the bass isn't as tight and clear but the bass is still good enough. Anyway I would highly recommend those IEMs  to anyone on a tight budget who is looking for excellent Hi-Fi SQ.

I've tried those after my very positive experience with the FX67.

Fit was great, build was great, price was great, but sound was way too bright for me.

Yeah I thought the sound was too bright as well like on the Panasonic HJE900 but after adjusting the EQ the sound was alot better.

Can't believe you paid £200 for those Panasonics when most people bought them for 1/3 of that price... crazy

Yeah I know but thats Apple's pricing for you and I regret buying them from that company as I wrote about my woes last year on this forum of paying that price at the $Apple$ retail $tore but they are great IEMs anyway. That has taught me a lesson never to buy from Apple again and to be less impatient.

Hello

Resurrecting an old thread I know, but I've just got a set of FXC80s (for £19 from Asda!) and I'm really impressed with the SQ so far - bass is deep and controlled, while the initial brightness has worn off after a week's constant listening.

I'm struggling a bit with the comfort though.  The tubes are a pretty large diameter and I tend to need reasonably large tips, but I'm getting pretty sore ears using the large tips and if I use the mediums I can't get a good enough seal.  I've tried medium Shure black olives (which work for me on all my other IEMs), but they're a real stretch and don't help on this occasion.

I'm keen to know if anyone's had any similar experiences with the FXC-80s due to their unusual design and if so, how they've overcome them.  Complys?  Modding?

Hopefully someone can help, I don't want to have to give up on these!

Thanks

yes well I'm considering eagerly into getting a pair of these but two minor questions, would the jvc be able to suit for performing? like what the artists usually use? is it qualified? and what are the goods and the downsides if you compare the fx80 with the "Shure SE 215"? is it better or worse? I'm an aspiring artist and I would prefer a more user friendly and reliable IEM if it comes to stage performance. thanks.
