MELOS SHA-Gold attenuator replacement advice required

Can anyone tell me...

will thi work in my SHA-Gold?

Yes it will.

To make it worth the effort of pulling that piece of crap photentiometer (or whatever the hell it's called) you should replace the input caps with something better as well.

The upside of this is you can wire the caps directly to the grid resistors instead of the random walk it takes normally.

 

If you want multiple inputs then while you're at pcx grab a rotary switch.

I like the Seiden but it might be too big in one of its dimensions.

I know for a fact the Elma/Dact one fits perfectly.

Yep, that 50K stepper should work, though I've been hesitant about using those because of their size.

 

There is a Melos modification log in my signature that may help with your mods.

I've read through your mod-log several times and would love to do much of what you've done. The attenuator switch-out sounds like it'd be simple enough to accomplish but I dont have the skills I wish I had to feel comfortable switching much else out. The left channel mod and upgrading power-supply along with caps would be fantastic but I think I need some schoolin
