Equipment Placment.... DAC, Tube Amp, laptop...

Thread Starter

Can I stack my Little Dot MKIV tube amp on top of my full-size DAC (PS Audo DLIII)?

Or might I experience any sort of interferance?

What about locating components side-by-side?  Minimum spacing distance?  Should I stick one on the left side of my Laptop, and the other on the right?

I know this all sounds anal retentive... but would like the feedback of those "in the know"

Thanks!

I would worry more about heat dissipation than interference. How warm does your DAC get? If it needs to shed heat, putting it under something like a tube amp would probably keep the innards warm.

Heat is the enemy of all electronics. The longer something is hot, the shorter its lifespan.

If you can spread the gear out, they'll run cooler.

If heat isn't a problem, go ahead and experiment with potential interference. Interference won't hurt anything, so if you pick up a buzz or hum, you can move the gear and nothing will be damaged.
