The D5 is more like a external soundcard now, I also liked the the oringal simple D5 design just usb in and stereo rca and 6.3mm out maybe fiio can make that and it call it the D1 or D2 or something.

I bought a Music Fairy USB sound card from eBay for US$4, which has the CM119 chip (basically the same as CM108 only with a different interface). It fixes the ground loop hum for the microphone coming from the laptop. The sound quality is just as good as my onboard C-Major. In case, anyone is looking for a much cheaper alternative.
