Looking for New PMP with Sleek UI

I'm looking for a new portable source, like the title says, with a pretty good UI. Anything really ricer, modern, aesthetic, etc just makes me instantly want it. It would mainly just for listening to music, bus rides and cardio are so boring without it. I'd also need some kind of earbud or IEM with it, since I've never bothered to buy one before. My favorite genre is electronica, specifically house and electro (Justice, Daft Punk, She) followed by rock/indie rock (Radiohead, The Flaming Lips, The Arcade Fire) I don't have any real preference between mechanical or touch screen, but minor(not game changing) pluses would be FLAC support and possibly wifi. It also needs to have a good battery life and a decent capacity. Zunes, or the Fiio X3 looks pretty good right now, but it's not out yet so I don't know how well it will be received. Also, there seem to not be many threads about iPod touches. Is there something wrong with them?

I have owned a Zune HD before, and if UI is important to you, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The original Zunes already had pretty nice UI in my eyes, but the Zune HD is a whole other level above. Of course, you do have to make some sacrifices with a Zune HD such as no FLAC support and less stellar WiFi performance than some other players, but to me (and it seems to you as well) those two aren't as important in a portable music player.

As for the IEMs, I've only owned two models and my genres of music don't exactly match up with yours, so I don't think I can help you there.

Is it really worth getting over the large selection of other features the ipod has?

Touches don't exactly have the greatest sound quality. I say go for a 32GB Cowon J3 :D. Has FLAC support but no wifi, though it makes up for it with the excellent sound quality. Battery life is somewhere around 65 hours.

Zunes have a really stylish UI that works well.  Their wifi browsing is mediocre at best and there's very little app support.  If you're bored and want to play games and stuff it's better than a J3 but not anywhere near the level of a touch.

Cowon J3's have a decent UI.  It works fine but isn't anything special.  You can get some nice custom skins easily though.  There's no wifi and also like zero useful apps.  The functionality is probably on par with an ipod classic.  For dedicated music listennig though it's probably the best since it'll last days on a single charge and the tactile skip/play/pause buttons are super useful.  SQ is very good as well as support for audio file types.

I would get a touch only if you want to do stuff other than listen to music.  It's on a totally different level from the Zune HD for web browsing and apps/games but for dedicated music though I think there are better choices.
