Asus Xonar Essence STX is enough to drive Sennheiser HD650?

Hello y'all!

 

I'm just about to buy a pair of Sennheiser HD650, a DAC and an amp.

Lately I have been looking mostly at the Asus xonar essence STX with DAC and amp combo. Is that enough to drive the HD650 properly? Or should i go with the Auzentech X-meridian 7.1? Or maybe buy a DAC and amp separately? Please come with suggestions!! :) I have about $250 to spend on DAC and amp.

i used to use essence stx to drive my HD600,it was quite good,but a amp is still recommend.

Sound card can drive them, but compared to some of the high end headphone amp is just different.  You need to hear it to like it, everyone hear differently.

I used to listen to my DT 880 600ohm on my Essence STX and it was OK, but I truly discovered what theses cans were capable of when I bought a true amp. I assume the same applies to the HD650
