Looking for a single driver balanced armature IEM with recessed mids...

Haha, specific requirements I know. Budget not an option as single BA models tend to be quite cheap anyway... I want a nice V-shaped (big highs, big lows) frequency response. Does anything fit the bill?

Thanks in advance.

That's a tough one. Let me check my inventory and see what I can find. Be back in a sec...hopefully. wink.gif

I think you're better off looking for a dynamic with that type of signature.

Here are some ideas to pursue, but it looks like picking may be slim...

Fischer Audio Eterna

Phonak Audeo PFE 121 (w/ the black filter)

+1 for the audeo with black filters

Why the restriction to single-driver armatures? If it's a question of price I believe every week there are multiple TF10s popping up on FS for $150 or so, and they're practically famous for that V-shape you're looking for. I've heard them and they're worth buying, at any case.

Being more specific on the budget would've made the whole easier.

FX500, SF5EB, Turbine, E2c.

At least how the OP has stated it so far, he's looking for a BA which rules out the FX500 and the Turbine. He also only wants a single BA and I think the SF5EB has two.

Of course, I have no idea why he wants that.

+2

The recessed mids of the the TF10 are the reason I didn't keep them for very long. But, that's not to say I didn't like the overall sound. Definitely should be near the top of the OP's shortlist.

Guys suggesting the Phonak Audeo with the black filters - does that have a V shaped sound signature just as compared to the other filters or does it actually have a v shaped sound signature in general?

Also, howabout the green (perfect bass) filters - how do they compare to the blacks?

why a BA with V shape?

Not sure why you just want a single BA. There are many dual/triple BA's with that sound signature. My suggestions: UE Triple.fi 10 or Westone 3
