Here is what I need help with:  I am wanting to get the best surround sound from my headphones for games purposes (black ops, battlefield games etc...)  I also want to use a mic to talk to my friends on TS or Ventrillo.

I ordered the Astro Mixamp and Sennheiser PC360 for my PS3 and Xbox 360 so I think i am good in my console department.

However, for my PC I am confused on what I should be using.

I have:

Denon 1911 receiver

Auzentech HD 7.1 Hometheater  (which can encode Dolby Digital and DTS via optical or HDMI to my receiver)

My Gigabyte motherboard can encode Dolby Digital as well

My headphones are:

AKG 701

PC 350 (modded)

PC 360

Logitech G35

Planetronics Gamecon 777

Tritton AX Pro True 5.1  (lol which I returned after reading Shin's review and grabbed the pc360's)

My mics:

Logitech Desktop mic

Clip on mic (not good imo)

Alright so I am currently using my Gigabyte to encode DD to my Denon 1911 receiver and then to my headphone jack.  Is this the optimal set up?

Or should I just use my Auzentech soundcard with cmss-3d?

Does Dolby Digital work in headphones to create a surround sound or does my receiver have to have the approved Dolby Headphone logo?  I guess it is working the way I have it set up, but is there a better way?
