I need to be able to play MP3 files at an accelerated rate! Help!

I am a medical student, and my school records all lectures and posts them on their server as MP3 files.  I study by reviewing these on my PC with VLC Media Player, which allows me to change the playback speed  anywhere from 0x to 4x without changing pitch.  This lets me burn through my slower lectures in less than half the time.  I need to be able to do this on-the-go as well, via a portable MP3 player. 

 

Does anyone know if Cowons can do it?  Any other suggestions?

Changing playback speed with pitch correction is pretty standard on Cowon players (I know personally that the i9 and J3 do it). The setting is from 50-150% in intervals of 10%.
