Doing IEMs some justice!

Thread Starter

Just got myself a pair of higher end IEMs, the UE 10pro :D

and I feel like I am not doing them justice when my portable rig is my phone, HTC Desire HD with the 10pro. I also have the E5 but I find it distorting when I am making phone calls while IEM are connected through the amp to the phone.

So first question:

Does the YP-P2 sound good?

And second question:

Any gains would I achieve with my e5?

Thank you all!

This is normal if the amp is not shielded from the phone's radio waves while it is either transmitting or receiving signals.

So can I somehow 'shield' it?

and how is the YP-P2? I'm bidding a 2nd hand product from ebay

You are listening to £200 quid headphones through a £10 amp and you feel the need to change your source player?

While I agree that your phone might not be the best source... even after the upgrade you may still find that it's the amp that needs updating, not the source so much.

but... man i only got those 10pro for $120AUD, and only upgraded from the soundmagic pl50 to them because they were dirt cheap

so that's why i want a good source first, and move up progressively. I don't have that much money to purchase a great source + amp at this stage. I found a E5 and a Pl50 quite matching in terms of sound AS well as class. and furthermore just bought the E5 to understand what's an amp and what does it offer

OK, so seems reasonable.

My advice...?

At this stage for you, if funds are limited and with decent cans... I'd buy something like the clip/Fuze and just listen from the headphone out. Both are pretty decent players.

The Fuze would give you the option to use lineout to the E5 or upgrade the amp later.
