C&C X02 ?

I can only assume that this is rebranded as something else, but I spent a lot of time in this forum and I havent seen it:

Headphiles thread with pics (dated Feb 20, 2011):

1W per channel, $329 shipped - saw a thread over at Headphiles and that seems to be about it. Nothing specific when I used 'Search' on HF - clearly, I'm missing something. Anyone ??

I'm skeptical about anything new in this crowded market, but since everything else seems to get a thread on Head-Fi, why the hell not ?  ;)

(probably just me, but doesnt it look a lot like a brandy flask in the packaging ?)

C&C isn't rebranded, just not popular anymore. They used to be a fairly well recommended brand in the forum a few years ago when they had a U.S. dealer. But C&C retreated back to China after the dealer went under. It is still a well regarded brand in China though.

It is called the XO2 for a reason.

From the China forums, it seems more respected than iBasso.

I came very close to buying a C&C, but ended up buying something else. So no, never really have a chance to listen to C&C.

Unless that is based on the opinion of one or two very vocal regulars on said forums, that hasn't been my impression. End of the day, I would need to buy the X02 to be able to give any sort of comparison, and I'm just not wiling to do that when the shipped price isnt far off a number of US-made amps.

maybe for a start, someone might be interested to try the low-end model of C&C: http://cgi.ebay.com/C-C-BK-Portable-Headphone-Amplifier-AMP-/360354289416?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e6ca1708

Well I was at Chinese "Head-Fi" reading a thread where this guy was asking which to buy, and most people recommended the C&C for great sound for money.

I've been told the C&C XO+ is a real good amp.  It is a fully discrete design to boot.  I would have liked to try it, but had gone with Minibox-E+ before I found out about it.

There also seems to be a tubeless version of the XO2Or maybe there's a mistake of sorts there.  2W output is awesome, especially for my full-sized 'phones, and plenty of battery life to boot.

That BK appeals to me a bit with its low profile.

Edit: audiophilechina is using the C&C TU pic for the XO2, lol

yea that's a tu from the picture and tu is more expensive than xo2.  didn't have the time to test this version but i remember xo+ is a little better than the original xo, which to me is a very good portable amp.  and i'm still using it after getting so many amps.  you can check my profile to see what i've got.

Well I ordered an X02. I'll be getting it around July it seems. Apparently these are an incredible portable to use to drive the LCD2. I shall see.

Maybe they call it the XO2 because it's their second shot at building an XO with a battery that has a life span of more that 10 nano-seconds. A couple years ago they were very popular here, I owned a Box and an XO, The Box was great, the battery in the XO died, I tried to get it replaced but the company stopped communicating and vanished. I was stuck with a very none portable portable amp.

I'd wait for them to have a US presence, a distributor and multiple retailers for a while before I threw any money at them. Nice stuff, flaky company.

Well my X02 should be arriving next week, almost here. :)  I'll post a review once I have it and have taken nice pics.
