Looking for some suggestions on what music techno-wise to get to test out the headphones.. mainly looking for songs with good/deep repetitive bass, and fantastic treble sounds (sythesized sounds, sound effects, etc. - basically what makes a song techno, you know)

Thanks!

If dub-step qualifies, someone suggested renaming this thread to What Dub Step songs do you test bass thump/extension with

I guess I'm mainly looking to test out the mid to treble range of my headphones, but this is ok.

treble? happy hardcore would be my pick. Problem is there is not a large amount of the better old stuff on youtube, mainly low quality rips.

Darren Styles - Getting Better

     - Drop Zone

     - The Theme

     - Slide Away

Scott Brown - Elysium

Acen - Trip II the Moon

If you want to stick with techno to test the highs, you would be best going back to the real old days of happy hardcore from back in the toytown era. Sorry, I can't help you there, but looking up antisocial, trixxy, slipmatt, force and styles, and of course toytown would be a start.

Man, these songs are awesome.. I'll definitely be looking for more from the hapy hardcore genre, I didn't know that's what it was called.

It's a silly genre, but fun. The best songs were between 02 and 06. Most later stuff has been tosh with a few underground exceptions.
