What to buy?? (portable flac player)

Hello, I'm new at this so sorry for sounding stupid. My mission is this: buying a portable .flac player with a reasonable battery life and that fits ok-to-nicely in my pocket. It's for using my sweet B&W P5 babies, both on-the-go and at home etc.

 

Please, do not use too many abbreviations, because I won't be able to understand them.

 

Been browsing a few threads before posting this, and you guys seem quite nice, so thanks in advance for the help!

P.s, I'm using a MacBook Pro (new model with Mac OS X 10.6.7), so the player must be compatible with that in some way. And also, I've been reading about the "Rockbox"-thing, is that the equivalent to jail-breaking an iPhone?

bearing in mind that flac files take up to 5 times as much space as mp3 i would recommend the 32gb cowon j3 with an additional memory card (micro sd) 64gb of flac files is around 3000 songs. the cowon j3 has huge battery life (up to 60 hours) and is relatively small (around 10cm*5cm)

+1 for the J3, however know that you can only have a max of 32GB microSD card for expansion. however, you can have muyltiple cards and simply bring them around in some sort of carrying case.

Another vote for the J3. The EQ on the Cowon is excellent - you have superb adjustability to tailor the sound to your preferences. Using the EQ on the J3 is essential though, it doesn't sound that great without it, but superb with.

Cowon j3 is popular - though some users have reported issues using them with apple mac OS (Is this still an issue hi-fiers?).

 

option number 2: is iphone or ipod touch with EQu or equalizer apps. And a Flac player app.
