It looks much slimmer than the original - rechargeable battery and smaller caps perhaps? Not too fond on angles though. I prefer a rounded shape.

yeah.not too fond of the angled shape. looks like there is a gain switch below the volume pot. wonder if it will be sonically similar to the first one.

Nice looking. I hope he added the crossfeed back to this one. I can hope there's a switch on the back...
I remember Jan once said there would be no crossfeed in the next portable amp he makes. Thus probably this one would not have crossfeed.

That sucks. I'd love a portable amp with both crossfeed and a stepped volume control.

My guess is it very likely will sound the same as the original. Just like MOVE, 2MOVE and 3MOVE all having the same sound.

i'm just hoping someday jan would implement internal charging circuit in his portable amp..taking the battery in and out is really annoying, not to mention the unusual battery contact. i prefer the snapped battery style of mini3. i always ended up putting some extra foam between the rechargeable battery and the battery enclosure compartment in my 2 move every time i put the battery after charging. it needed to be done in order to get a good contact between the 9v battery and the battery pins. really troublesome

Reading this thread, I'm wondering how many of you took the time to read Jan's thread on the future of Meier Audio. He makes it clear that the new amp wont have crossfeed, but that he is committed to further developing amps which do offer crossfeed and other functions which interest him.
I also find it interesting that several dont like the shape - one of the biggest single complaints about Jan's earlier amps was that they didnt mate easily with a DAP. Granted, it would need to be a somewhat large DAP to sit neatly on top of this new device, assuming it has the same proportions as the original Stepdance, but at least it will sit flat.

Hmm, missed that.
This size should be perfect for my iPod nano 3Gen. ![]()
