Where can I get replacement filters for the xcape ie? actually using cotton swab tips as filters and its not terrible but not perfect.

~it actually made the phones warmer/softer. not really great on the ie but wonder what it would do to the xcited.

Foam or foam equivalents in the nozzle generally diminish treble intensity. Should work well with Xcited, actually. Regarding replacement filters, head-direct (HiFiMan) ones may work but I'd try contacting sunrise or lendmeurears for ideas. You're probably not the first to lose/clog the stock filters.

werent the filters non-replaceable? (i even thought they were metal filters...)

Well they seem replaceable. Would've been awesome if it just came with extras like re0 does. I wonder if I have foam somewhere around my house but cotton seems to work like a charm - and I can adjust left/right balance.

do you think some earbuds foam pads would work? of course after cutting them to fit properly

As filters - sure - just crumple up the right amount and stick it in the nozzle. As actual screens, probably not. You'd have to stamp them out the right size and glue them in place somehow. Lot of hassle.

Filters go inside the nozzle. You're talking about screens, and they would be very difficult to make from earbud foam.

oooohhh eek.gif , so this whole time (long time) i misunderstand the whole thing. so , the xcited/X-IE have replaceable filters inside.

but the screens not? what are they made from? are they like the RE-series?

Oh. Well they don't have filters if you call them screens. But that screen filters sound. In shape they look like the re0's but they are white and maybe more fibery in texture.

No, nothing is replaceable on the IE/Xcited but I assume marioman94 lost/damaged the screens somehow so he's trying to make up for it by inserting something in the nozzle.

but for ~$70 i can only think of the Sansa Clip+  or  Fuze , or the Cube c30/Nationite N2. but i dont know how better they'r than the E2, if any better at all , SQ-wise
