Worth Upgrading AMP? Or Cable Upgrade?

Hey I own a pair of k702's with an e9 and a hrt music streamer II

 

is it worth upgrading the E9 to a Matrix-M-Stage with class A mod?

 

Will it sound much different?

 

or would a cable upgrade be more worth it, and if it is what kind of cabling? 6.3mm preferred

I honestly would not bother with a recable unless you are going diy because it will almost certainly make very little difference if none, where as an amplifier upgrade will most likely make a difference.

Personally I think you are far better off upgrading your headphones, unless you are absolutely in love with the k701 sound signature.

Both the recable and the M-Stage won't significantly improve on your current rig. The E9 is pretty decent actually. Your current rig is perfectely capable of delivering stellar audio. Maybe you're just looking for a different signature? Try a different headphone manufacturer.
