Which one of these turned out to be the best portable source??

Algorythm Solo is not a source. It does not play music.

The Solo is a transport, an exceptional one, Hifiman is a DAP an exceptional one.

A Few people who had heard both said hm 801 is more musical.

A source is anything that outputs or supplies something. The Algorythm Solo converts a digital audio bit into an analog one thus creating sound. So, it is a source. wink.gif
