You read it correctly, what's the big deal if somebody enjoys Beats more than Ed8?

Somewhat understandable actually.. Tried ed8 and pro900, both sound very artificial to me, maybe the S-logic just doesn't work for me

Good thing is that I'm yet to listen to their open model, eg the ed10 ==

Notice the reviewer plugged it directly into his computer.  Maybe the Ultrasones prefer being amped?

Well, that S-Logic thing is simply that their drivers are angled slightly :p

LoL...I tend to agree. I would put money that the author has never even been in the same room with any Ultrasone headphone in their life. tongue.gif

Who just spends $1500 on headphones without having heard their sound first...?

Although I wasn't terribly impressed with the edition 8 when I heard them in Chicago, I would hardly say that listening straight out of a laptop is a fair appraisal of a high-end piece of equipment. That said, at least he mentioned that he only hooked it up to the laptop - that way, people looking for knowledgeable reviews will know to ignore him. wink_face.gif

Whenever I read a review that interests me I always look at the source the reviewer is using.

If its crap then the E8's should sound crap else they are not revealing the truth and phones of their standard should make it obvious that the source is crap.

It would be like buying a Ferrari replacing its engine with a 1 litre diesel engine and then moaning about the performance!!

Also he got them new had them for 1 day and sent them back!

Obviously in this case crap + crap (Beats) gives a better quality of Crap

2X  I love when I hear this posted, some still argue.

Folks in the know understand that having a bad source is the cause of many problems. It would be like trying to take a low quality Mp3 file and somehow correct it, and make it pretty again.

They think the stuff down stream is bad and keep looking for a piece of audio equipment which does not exist.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking; possibly self justifying his poor decision to purchase beats or works for Monster. I've read a few polar opposite reviews on this site and around the web and wonder if they've really heard both phones...
