I need the 80's heads to help me here:

Was at a lounge in NYC last night and great 80's remake came on.

I knew the song immediately because it was almost a carbon copy of the original but with a more updated synth-sound and beat.

The remake was a female singer (a distinct, somehwat deep and monotone voice)...someone I know but couldnt place-of a what I think is a male-sung-song.

This is a famous 80's song...I know theres not much here...any suggestions???

Did it start out with "Sweet dreams are made of this..."?

On a complete hunch, I searched for female covers of New Order's "Bizarre Love Triangle." AT&T won't let me load any on the phone, but it seems that such a cover exists.

If that's not it, do you remember even a fragment of the lyrics?

If it was a hit, you might want to poke around some of the more popular synth bands, like OMD, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, Blancmage, Depeche Mode, Thompson Twins, the Human League, Tears for Fears, a-ha, and probably a couple of other obvious ones I can't think of right now.

Unfortunately I cannot remember any lyrics or provide any more info.

That said, I think it might be a recent remake b/c ive never heard it in the clubs before and I would imagine this DJ would be playing the latest releases.

I think I may have to just run through the best of say 85-89 and see if I can recognize the original.
