Select control panel, click hardware and sound, click manage audio, select playback device and double click on it, then click advanced. Select sample rate and bit depth.
Only 2 modes are allowed in windows control panel:
16/44.1
24/44.1(default)
I use the WASAPI interface instead of the ASIO in XP.The default rate in the M-Audio driver panel is 44.1.When I want to play a file at 96khz for example,I have to switch it manually to 96 now from the Delta control panel.
WASAPI talks straight to the driver of the sound card.
As a consequence
- the media player using WASAPI must tell the driver to change the sample rate
- the driver of the sound card must be able to change the sample rate
Might be a problem with the media player or with the driver or with both.
You might try is you get automatic sample rate switching to work using ASIO
Maybe the trial version of J River Media Center is of use as it supports both WASAPI and ASIO
Actually,it doesn't work with any output interface(WASAPI,Direct Sound,MIxer,MME).
Also,with WASAPI there's ~2 sec. volume slider latency,is that normal ?
Sorry,I'm new to WIN7 :)
