thx....For now i don't touch the filter, at least until i know where can buy substitutes....I like how they stock sounding.

 

 

They are growing on me  every time I learn to find the perfect seal. 

 

 

The correct tip seal and placement of the ear shell, are the most important things, to love these phones, is not always easy in the beginning.

 

 

If they don't fit well in any type of ear, will never give a agreeable sound to that person.

My left one is starting to get some nasty distortion with louder drums when the volume is around 40. Anyone ever have a problem like this?

All songs with kicking drums, it seems. I contacted Earsonic. Let's see what they say. Have only owned them for a little over a month.

Earsonic was quick and responsive in my email. They told me to send it out to them. Wonder how much that's going to cost me from the US.

Jeez, am I doing this right? Trying online seems to push it around 70 dollars. That's quite steep for me right now.

I don't understand that price, they just want you send SM3.

Don't need send all pack/box just put SM3 on a very little solid box, send it by US mail with signature reception, extra ensures are very expensive.

I have received here EU big boxes from US and don't cost what you are pointing.

you dont need to send in an ultra-fast service, if it takes a few more days to arrive you don't die.

Just ensure you have;

- Tracking number
- Receive comfirmation

 

Check the cost of an insurance, to see if it worth.

And of course a very closed box, inviolable as possible, very glued.

 

In customs describing, you place "article for repair" or ask Earsonics for that.

Well, I am an idiot, guys. I sent my box via the USPS for about 7.50. Said it was going to take about a month or so, and I was like fine. BUT, I get home and what do I see? My damn SM3 v2's, So I sent a box without the headphones inside. I contacted Earsonics. I'll just have to send this package as well tomorrow.

 

 

Some good news is I did order some RE0's today to use while my Earsonics get back to me some time in May.

Anyone tell me how good custom tips work with SM3's? I am considering buying some. And what's a good site to get custom tips from.

To me, they're fairly similar, though the SM3's are better on maybe a bit better overall.  Definitely more bass presence, however the detail/separation on the UM3X is better, at least based on what I've head so far.

 

Of course, I've only just started listening to the SM3's, seeing as I bought them accidentally, but I'm rather enjoying them so far.

 

I definitely prefer them to the UM3X, but I still throw on the UM3X for certain genres (soundtracks come to mind, they sound much more 'full' with them), however I think my JH5's are still king between the 3.

 

I still haven't tried these amp'd though, so I may do that tonight, see how they sound.  And I wonder how burn in will kick in for me.
