I'm tired of using my nano and itouch.
Price range is 100-150$ max,
size shouldnt really matter.
Gb space needs to have 32gb.
Just plays music nothing else.
Also needs to play Flac files.

Gonna be rough getting a decent 32gb for under 200.  Is there even such a player?

J3 has a micro sd. So I can get a 8gb and then get another 16gb micro sd?
is that the best route for me

Sounds like J3 or X7 for you (J3 if you wanna use your mac), then get 32gb cards. max it out.

Or should I get a Touch 32gb 3rd gen. Since my friend is selling his for 120$. I do have a FiioE7 which I know will help boost the source in the touch.

That would be safer than risking a Cowon by using it with a Mac.

Yeah, get the touch.

The J3 and S9 are the exact same thing, except for different form factors and the micro SD slot on the J3.

If you want something for music only, you really can't beat the S9/J3.  They sound way better than the itouch and you get the BBE sound enhancements as well as a very nice EQ system.  You also don't really need to use your e7 with them if you don't want to carry around too much stuff.  Cowon stuff is a little bit picky about Macs, but as long as you remember to eject the player when you're done loading up music you should be fine.

The itouch is only better for doing stuff other than music.

+1..

Go for the cowon man,you won't be dissapointed..

I have the iaudio9 and waiting for the J3 next week.

The sound quality is awesome and the jet effects are a plus if you tweek them to your taste.

I do use E5 and E7 with my cowon and it is a good combo for on the go use..
