Sweet, yeah, I am missing the hard case as well.

The bass on the BE edition had too much quantity for these ears. It's exactly like when I leave the sub in my car up too high after "rockin' out." That's NOT the case w/ the MKII's. They just sound right to me. The bass is definitely there, but it doesn't take over the song and force me to eq them down. Also, the gray cable is clearly cooler than the red/gray cable...even if it turns green or blue or copper later on. :D

Grab this track (publically free on his facebook): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13969936/Stephen%20Swartz%20-%20Survivor%20(Feat%20Chloe%20Angelides).wav

@ 3min 12sec, there's some bass that sort of "rumbles" too much on the BE. The vocal's are less clear because of this. The MKII's are PERFECT here. I don't feel like I'm missing any detail or warmth. Continuing on w/ the BE's through rest of the song is "difficult" for these ears.

Another track that pushs the bass into her vocals is Pink's Try. It sounds "off" and too colored w/ the BE. MKII hits it perfectly. The BE's can be "fun", but I simply cannot listen to them for long periods or wo/ getting frustrated w/ the low end emphasis.

*raises hand*

Either I'm VERY sensitive to low end or the comply's are emphasizing the bass, but to MY ears and IMO, the MKII's have PLENTY of bass. The BE's push the bass into the mids and vocals suffer as a result. The difference isn't earth shattering, but I MUCH prefer the MKII's. They're my favs.

I can't agree more than this. It sums up my experience perfectly. The MKII's have more than enough low end to go around. It's a much more balanced, and therefore "listenable" IEM.

It looks like I will also be ordering through them we shall see.

I got my order in today for the MKII's. The package had SHRINK WRAP ON THEM!! Absolutely flawless looking package w/ just the hard case missing. They most definitely did NOT Look used. (see below)

I know it's hard to read, but they are indeed the MK2's. I could not be happier w/ the package or the sonic presentation of the MKII's. They are everything the TF10's were not...flat so I can hear vocals. Unlike the RE0's or ER6i's, they have great low end extension. When the song calls for it, the bass is THERE, but it never takes over the song like the BE did.

Thank you all for helping me w/ this purchase. There was a time when I thought I would never be happy w/ an IEM, but these have changed all that. Thanks!

Oh yeah! The comply's that I'm using are left over from my order for the TF10's. The TS-500's.

These really muffled the vocals on the TF10, but I don't feel that way about these. Also, worth noting is that when I wear them correctly w/ the wire up and over the ear, the vocals do take a hit and get hidden a bit. But if I wear them wire down and sticking out of the ear, vocals come right back to the front! Def give that a try as you might have weird canals like mine!

Seriously, I'm extremely happy w/ the MK2's. They handle all of my music from Oakenfold to Vivaldi to Usher to Bond.

So after the 1st snafu w/ the used GR07 BE and now w/ the partial refund from the missing case, I got this for free, lol.

Now all I need is for GRID 2 to hurry up and release!

Oh yeah bro, I had been eqing my BE's down to take the edge off the BOOM underlying every note. Maybe it was power amp's eq or maybe I was eqing down too much, but I was a little disappointed in the lack of bass. I was honestly scared/nervous/worried that the MK2's would be too thin and lack any low end. When I got the MK2's, all fears were thrown out as the low end is DEFINITELY there, but now I could hear even MORE detail. Also, I couldn't find a single tip that worked for me in the BE bundle, but light purple colored "fake" sony  hybrid is a PERFECT fit.

TL;DR: MK2's > BE

I'm just blown away @ how much low end I get while keeping all that detail. I can't believe I "suffered" w/ the TF10's for so long. These are more comfy and way more clear in the mids than those ever were. I listen right out of a Galaxy Note 2 and have zero need for eqing anything.

I'm sorry you had to get BE'd before you could MKII it up, but have some nice photos instead, ok? :D

I am very surprised of the recent "the BE's have too much bass" comments. I have never come close to thinking they have too much bass. I guess maybe I am a basshead after all!

I listened to the LCD-2's for the first time listening to stuff like Funky Town and other disco and I thought "THIS IS WHAT PROPER BASS SOUNDS LIKE WOW!" then in my pursuit of finding something I can afford to mimic the LCD-2's I bought the Mad Dog's and they sounded a little too thin to me because mid's were so up front and center, and I thought maybe I am becoming a basshead? "Everything seems so thin now that I have heard the meaty pop of the LCD-2's!" getting worn out chasing the full sized headphone of my dreams I decided I needed a good IEM and it was time to venture into the unknown! that is why I originally decided on the BE's I thought "Well I don't wanna get the original it will probably sound too thin" but now with 200 hours on the BE's I have to say they are one of the better bass heavy headphones I have heard and I have heard quite a bit! mostly only full size headphones though.

I would think it is safe to say people who prefer the BE's are "Bassheads" I think after this little experience of mine I can say for sure that bass is very important to me but I dislike having too much as much as having too little, I don't know if this makes me a Basshead or not because I will listen to stuff like the VModa M-100 and say holy crap that's way too much bass! turn around and say the DT 880 has too little!

I crave extension for the weight but not amount for the rumble I am guessing I will think the MKII's are very close to perfect but not quite there as far as bass (I will probably still settle with them as the best IEM choice for me)  and the BE's are a little too much.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention I guess a little bit more bass has been squeezed out of the Mad Dog's since I experienced them I shall have to look into it!

I will be interested in your impressions once you get your MKII's (and after the pre-requisite hundreds of hours of burn in!).
