It would be hard to believe that a an iem would be perfect for metal especially considering the vast amount of tastes and what a person expects to get by listening to metal.

I was referring mainly to guitars and drums. And the overall speed of the presentation.

I am pretty sure that's what most of us metalheads look at first, the bass in this iem is really good, I have no probs with it

Got these two weeks ago to replace my SF5 Pros which my baby daughter destroyed. (Broke the cable pins in the housing. YEA!)

Thanks to Head-Fi for the excellent recommendation. I am really enjoying these and am amazed at the detail they bring out. I am able to hear distinct voices in the chorus which I was never able to do with the SF5s.

Also, the fit is amazing. But coming from SF5 pos, that would be a given.

The only thing lacking compared to my old iem is the isolation. I could put the SF5 in with Shure olives and not even notice the roar of a jet engine. But at least with the GR07 I can feel safe walking the streets.

For tips, I tried all of the stock but couldn't get a good or comfortable seal. Tried the real Sony hybrids, but they made the bass totally disappear. So I used my solution from my SF5:

Remove core from stock foam tips. (Easy)
Remove core from Shure Olive (Not so easy)
Place Shure Olive on GR07 and Viola! Perfect fit and seal.

Thanks again and btw, I read all 341 pages of this thread. Interesting read...

It's a single dynamic driver, with a biocellulose diaphragm.

So Ontrac just stopped by w/ my new GR07...

photo 1-box.jpg

photo new.jpg photo 2-used.jpg

So not only are they the wrong product, but they've got ear wax on the tips. I ordered from Overstock Deals ~ fulfilled by Amazon because:

1. picture was clearly an MKI/MKII

2. review said he got an MKII

3. Feedback Rating: 4.8 stars over the past 12 months (98,415 ratings)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005UNNRX4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Is this my fault. Absolutely. Am I disappointed? Not @ all. Here's why:

1. Amazon is refunding me immediately

2. Amazon is letting me keep these GR07 Bass editions for 30 days

3. Amazon is giving me a credit of $20 So it looks like I'll get a chance to compare the MKII's w/ the Bass edition. :D

Now...time to start cleaning w/ 99.9% alcohol...

Edit: Also, I have to purchase this w/ a prepaid visa (hence the amazon over lendmeurears purchase). Ideas of where to buy from next?

Edit2: Is mp4nation.net a safe place to order from?
