I've owned every iem on that list except the BA200.

What exactly do you want out of the iem, and what music do you listen to?

Thanks Eke, I listen mostly metal (thrash and metalcore) and maybe some alternative rock (Hoobastank, Flyleaf, Seether) I don't really know what I want anymore, because the past three IEMs I used the most all sounded very different. (first the Eterna, then the HJE900 and then the B2), I am keeping the B2 so I need something differente but equally good, that's why I think about the Dynamics (JVC, Sony MH1c) but the others offer a differente BA based sound to my  B2I guess from what I read. I really liked the build quality of my HJE900 but the isolation and fit of the eterna was just awesome. I know I ask a lot for a $200 phone.redface.gif

Ah, ok. Here goes..

T-PEOS H100: Don't bother, ESPECIALLY for that type of music

VSonic GR07: Still the best I've heard for rock and metal

JVC FXD80: V-shaped, so not ideal for guitar and drum driven tracks

Sony MH1c: Just buy it :)

Sony XBA-3: Pretty darn good. It doesn't quite have the grunge and grind that the GR07 can produce for metal, but it's still no slouch.

You are awesome, I think I will need to read a few comparison about the BA200 and I'll be set. Thanks a lotbeerchug.gif

Edit: I am leaning towards the two Sony IEMs, those are the cheapest and safe I guess

Darn, first Canada clearancing the XBA-3, now Mexico? Hopefully USA will get some love soon...

have the ba200 and gr07 (and a few others) right now and have compared some metal/rock/etc.  gr07 would be my recommendation if you want punchy bass, kick drums, that sort of thing with good overall quality every where else...  there are phones i like  better, but they don't have the bass presence.  if i didn't listen to all the stuff i did, i might value the gr07 bass more, but highs and mids are more critical at this point for me, and i have been listening to bass heavy phones for years! haha...

Actually I think that they got cheaper first here in Mexico, but the regular price has always been very expensive (like the MSRP on the US). From time to time they go really cheap even on the official Sony Store. Have you heard any of those XBA? I have only auditioned the XBA 4 and I quite like it but didn't find them exquisite or magic for the high price

Thanks for the advice, I think that if I end up not buying the GR07 it will haunt me forevertongue.gif

TDK BA200 is going cheaper than $141 at the moment, check the deals thread.

On Amazon, which even if ships internationally they charge a lot (import duties mostly) 141 on Ebay with free shipping it's a good price I believe.

that's decent, i paid $150 here on amazon.com.  The ba200 is really an increible all around set too for the price.  They work better with most genres than the gr07 in my opinion....

OMG i love my GR07. Its the best IEM i have so far. Its signature is exactly what im after. Great mids with nice bass. The only downside i can think of is Sibilance.

and ohh i kinda hate the cables, it keeps falling down from my ears, maybe its just the shape of my ears. Anyone experiencing this too?

Really?  I thought they had the best cable of any iem i have here.  Silky smooth and durable.  Are you using the over the ear guides?  Even without them I didn't have a problem, but I love the guides...

Maybe he is using the old Mk1 model which has a stiffer cable

Though I do agree that the BA200 can be an upgrade for some people, it is a bit difficult comparing mid-tier dynamic with BA IEMs (like comparing stats and dynamics for headphones), they have their + and - and a fundamentally different attributes in presenting sound (air movement, bass and treble presentation, and sometimes timbre). I had the BA200, SM2, UM2 and all went on sale while I keep the GR07. Even the SM3 which I think is a pretty good BA in the end couldn't supplant the GR07 for me. The UE900 is very nice but it's quite a different flavor from the GR07.

I do think the EX1000 is a potential upgrade path for those who like the GR07 but it's always a good idea to audition first.

Very well said. It's hard to compare BA to dynamic as both have different qualities to offer. What I like about BA iems is that they offer top notch detailing and that sparkly treble that can be fatiguing at times (I've only tried the DBA-02 MK2, GR01 and B1/DBA-02 MK1).

Which do you guys thinks offer the best sound (I would ask the best bang for my buck but I think is pretty obvious that that would be the Sony MH1c), I am using the Brainwavz B2, they are great but they can sound thin and harsh at times (specially from my zune hd) I will run them unamped. The B2 offers incredible clarity and is quite transparente,  I think that is the first phone that sounds just right, not veiled like my Alessandro MS1i. I used to own a pair of HJE900 and they were great but they broke (incredible I know) and someone stole my Eterna, I loved the way the eterna sound, so smooth and almost liquid mids, the were a bit narrow on the soundstage and lacked the clarity of the B2 but they were pretty easy going with everything (Megadeth to t.A.T.u.). Any advise? I am willing to speend up tp 200 bucks but I want some top tier sound, dynamic and with more bass than the B2. Many thanks in advance.

If I were you just get both the MH1C and the R07. The R07 delivers great bass quality and quantity and at the same time very detailed midrange without sacrificing the treble though expect it won't be as sparkly as your B2. Only con I can think of about the R07 is the sibilance. Not really a problem for me as I listen at low volume but for other people who don't and are sensitive to sibilance it would be an issue. If you could audition those in your list it would be better but I assure you the R07s are a keeper if you like the sig.
