It's probably just a name since they are doing away with the MK2 and BE and replacing it with a single model. It's likely just to differentiate it from the upcoming VSD7.

Mis-assumption on my part then ...... good to keep in mind.

Just want to add a couple of lines kissing the GR07's butt , I bloody love these things!

As head-fiers do, I've purchased 2nd hand kit on a whim just to try out and experiment with.....all have just made me appreciate just how good these things are. Recently X10i and FXT90....

I think my journey may be over. That is all.

I was about to buy a pair of the GR07 Mkii, but now I see they are coming out with the Classics for $100. What is the difference between the Classic and the Mkii? I don't want to spend an extra $80 for the same earphones.

There are talks that the driver will be different, but I can't see how they could do that and make them sound the same, so details are kind of up in the air.  The MKII is currently on sale over at lendmeurears right now for $133 - now is the time to get them before the new stock is gone, since the Classis will be releasing soon.  http://www.lendmeurears.com/product_info.php?currency=USD&products_id=38

I really love both GR07 MK1 and BE, but I find the cable of MKI to be superior. It is ticker and once putted behind the ear doesn't move at all, atleast for me. The BE cable is a downgrade for me, it is thinner and more tangle prone than the original. I have to twisted couple of times before putting over the ears and still moving and annoying me.

The sound on the other hand is amazing on both, still can't decide which one I like more, but for 130$ GR07 is a steal and I'm not sure if the Classic will be on par with it.

Yea, it sounded like a good deal. Thanks for the info. Have you tried the MKII?

^ Unfortunately still  haven't had a chance to try MKII, but as far as I know is very close to MK1. MKII should be a bit less sibilant, with more controlled highs, just a bit less bass and of course inferior cable (my opinion tongue.gif).

I'm cool with that. Thanks again. cool.gif

After owning the gr07mkii for several months and then recently acquiring the BE, I'm somewhat surprised. I expected the BE to be a bass-head earphone. For me, it's not. It's just slightly different than the gr07 with a touch more sub bass weight and presence. All the wonderful things offered by the gr07 are still there in the BE. Both are wonderful.
