VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

I've only found a few IEM's a step above the GR07's in the 400$ price range. Sony MDR EX1000, Westone 4 , PFE 232. These IEM's I just named all of course has fantastic bass and just overall beautiful imaging. I would throw in the Heir Audio 4.ai if you don't care a lot about bass. The 4.ai provides great punch and it's very fast and I personally think the 4.ai has perfect bass response depending on the recording. If the Recording of the song has lots of bass the 4.ai will have lot's of bass. If the recording has small amounts of bass then the 4.ai will have small amounts of bass. When I first got the 4.ai I wasn't all that impressed with it and I've came to find it was due to a fit issue. Well all that changed once I added my Sony Hybrids on to them and I must say I am very impressed with them. The Imaging and clarity of the 4.ai is marvelous and it's definitely a worthy upgrade. But I still must say the GR07 aint no slouch. It definitely gets the job done and is still and will always be my favorite IEM. GR07 fan fo life, you just can't beat that $179.99 Value Price tag.

I feel like I am dying today. After nearly 2 years of service my gr07's right channel died. I have tried every possible solution but couldn't get the sound out of my right earpiece :frowning2: did anyone here experience the same situation? Any possible solutiouns will be wellcomed.

More of a sidegrade, IMO.

Unless you could never get a good seal or fit with the 07's, in which case the H200's are a definite upgrade! :)

I did a temp trade this weekend. My gr07 for the bass edition. This is my thoughts I sent to the owner:

"I've had the be's you sent for about an hour and thought I'd share a few impressions (I tend to hear the most difference in the first few minutes...after that my brain starts to trick me).  First off, your cable is somewhat more flexible/limber than mine. Mine tends to want to tangle. I seem to remember something about a different cable being used between these two editions but I don't remember for sure. I think that mine has a silver cable and yours copper. Not sure though.

Second, the difference between the two is not as much as I would have guessed. Basically I'm hearing about about a 4db bump in the bass region and a very slight roll off in the mids and treble. The presentation is just slightly darker/warmer on yours. The point is that the two editions sound very very similar IMO. I could be happy with either. After listening just an hour, if I had to pick a winner I'd take the BE as I tend to prefer darker warmer."

Ouch. Looks like Vsonic(now China Vsonic or something)'s total boycott of Japanese stuff really did kill the gr07. :,( (the bio cellulose driver was developed by Sony and they might have patented it) the press release is on the v7007 thread.

Hmm, a load of comments have been removed.

I found a very interesting interview with the Vsonic, posted in June on a Spanish site, with pictures from their factory and production. Is there any rules against posting a link to it here? If people have not seen it before it's a very enlightening read and confirms their intentions moving forward.

Certainly there is nothing against posting the type of content that you mentioned.  I am not a mod here, but I used to be for over five years in Brazil's biggest forum about A&V.  From that experience I can tell that it is simply impossible (from an effort point of view) in a situation of trolling (which we had here in this thread) analyze post by post.  Usually you take the first post where the trolling begins and remove everything until the last one.  This can cause the situation that "valid" posts are being removed as well.  Just re-post your link, certainly interesting for everybody in this thread.

As a general recommendation:
