Edit: I can see what you're saying but I don't have anything with a big sound stage to compare! I tend to prefer an intimate presentation.

Were you refering to Jays Foams or silicone tips? Jays Foams are one of my favourite foam tips for the GR07, but they were discontinued some time ago and are almost impossible to find nowadays... frown.gif

lol. I better stockpile them when I go to South Korea this december.

 

They only cost less than 2 bucks a pair shipped from zound.co.kr

That's a great price! I'm still supplied for some time, as a while back I was able to source a retail pack with 5 pairs but it was a lot more that $2 a pair for me...

It is the jays silicone. I've never tried their foams. I'm not usually a fan of foams anyway.

That being said, I think I'll need to stick with the stock GR07 tips (not hybrid clones). The jays silicone have a wider bore and treble can get a little to splashy for me at times. The stock tips treble stays under control but the tip is not quite as wide, so I get a little less isolation and deep bass. Oh the compromises we must make.

Edit: Turns out there is an 8k peak that causes ringing for me. Foam tips seem to resolve this issue, so I've ordered some jays foams. Since then I've discovered the MH1c tips are golden on them. Very rare ringing instances.

You know, I'm definitely feeling the treble on the gr07 getting better with more run-time. My current EQ setting on the treble section is boosted by an average of 3 dB. Perhaps it's just brain burn-in, although I want to believe that my gr07 is improving.

For me, indistinguishable. Foamies don't fit my ears too well (my ear canals are too small perhaps), so they hurt.

Oh you mean the ones that came with it?  Yeah those are crap, they don't really work with anyone. :P

When I first got my GR07s, I took a look at them, and they went straight into the round file :P
