The beauty of these headphones is that they scale really well to damn near everything you push them with.  With the Zune HD I have, they sound pretty good, if a bit flat.  Plug em into the J3 with some BBE enhancements and you can make these things sound like basshead headphones if need be.  The clarity of the bass is top notch, even when EQ'd that direction which is really great to see.  First headphone I've found to not distort at all when EQ'd like that.

Oh, besides the build quality, VSonic hit home with this model. It's very balanced, my preferred sound sig.

Sansa fuze with a Fiio E11 a good pairing with these iem's ?

I was planning on using the E11 on my soon to be Ultrasone 900 Pro's as well.

In between all my other IEMs (which includes the DBA-02 and EX1000), I hardly find the GR07 'boring'. Less colored compared to the rest and more realistic, sure, but definitely not boring.

I also find the build quality of the GR07 to be just fine, I have twisted the cable viciously (to fix the flex... which I realize then it would have been a bad idea if the build quality was worse than I anticipated), shoved them into my bag without its case when I was in a hurry (something I wouldn't do if I wasn't confident in it), and knocked them hard a few times on purpose just to see if it does have a bad build quality.

You're not.. I've given the GR07 some token abuse to see how it handles and it did just fine.. my cable doesn't slow the slightest wear at the point where they enter the driver housing.. I've fall asleep, and subsequently tossed and turned with the GR07s many a nights.. as well as pulled them off in my sleep and wound up sleeping on them or found them wrapped around my wife's foot the next morning.. lol.
 

Watch out with headroom graphs - I find them to be quite inaccurate when it comes to low end. For example, they say that Sleek Audio SA6 with neutral filters has more bass than HD 800, where in reality it rolls off after 60 Hz, where HD 800 don't. Also, see the impulse response to see the bass decay. Frequency response is the amount, impulse response is the decay - you want none or not a lot of ringing [that's fake fast bass] and horizontal lines of the square wave.

My pair (before being broken) hasn't changed its sonic character in any appreciable way - there was no congestion at all, but the sibilance can give such appearance with certain tracks.

I do dislike the treble spike - it causes many positioning issues, narrows down the soundstage and breaks certain songs altogether by making them unbearably sibilant. (try anything with sitar for starters)

Bass comparison follows:

The bass on GR07 has somewhat shorter decay than, say, Senn IE8, IE7 or even those Brainwavz M2, however the texturing is impeccable. Of course 95%* (* - fake number) of BAs have shorter decay, even the bassy ones; maybe Ortophons have similar? I haven't heard any of these. It also needs no equalization, as there's the exact right amount of it and it's almost perfectly linear. There's maybe a very slight ~100 Hz boost - barely noticeable, maybe 1 dB. Starts to roll off roughly at some 30 Hz, which is a very good result.

Let's compare to the IEMs I've most experience with. IE8 starts rolling off early, the 0 dB is crossed around ~25Hz of this midbass bloated beast. M2 is also bass bloated, crosses 0 dB at ~35 Hz. IE7 is least bass bloated of them, crosses 0 around 36 Hz with smaller midbass boost.

SA6 (with bass++ filter) has accurate bass with decent decay - best decay for BA I've yet heard. It starts rolling around 80-100 Hz

depending on the depth of fit slightly (higher when deeper). For example, Westone 4 starts rolling at 50 Hz, but has somewhat worse decay.

DBA-02 has a midbass boost, but far worse decay than the above two - rolls around 50 Hz as well.

Currently playing never, never gonna give you up by lisa stansfield and these are just downright superb. Nothing beats the gr07 in terms of price/performance ratio. I actually prefer these to my um3x!

Just dropped the bomb on these, tough decision between these and the Etymotic HF5's - I think I will prefer the sound sig of these a lot more, as I never really enjoyed the RE-ZERO or DBA-02 as much as I had hoped.

Got a Fiio E11 to have a little play around with also, as they are a lot cheaper than I thought :)

Yea, that is what for me, lacked in the RE-ZERO's - It wasn't as full as I wanted it to be, the GR07's sound from the reviews I've read to fill in that gap hopefully, it's not a bank buster anyway, If I like them I like them, If I don't I'll try another pair

I had the re0 and re-zero before, and I don't find the gr07 sounds similiar to those at all

Don't see how the RE-ZERO sounds like the GR07 either. The GR07 sounds fuller and a touch warmer than RE-ZERO to me.

Was scared a second with the comparison directly related to the ZERO's...

Ok.. Let's wait for Varley's impression. If he agrees with your two about the different, warm and full sound signature (and I mean full, not big), I would accept that I'm not audiophille enough to make further critical notes on earphones. 

Buy the way, Varley and the others, I hope you had properly amped your RE0's  (you know.. Fiio7, Teclast T51 / Sflo2 / HiFiMan 601 etc stuff..) . On hifiman for instance, the big difference I do hear between these two comes from wider GR07 stage .. The rest is just too subtle to focus on and call it a different signature..
