Not every headphone comes with storage case. D5000 and DX1000 were my previous examples. This is what I found.
The packaging it came in seemed suspect. And the only things showing it's from ATH is the packing tape and logo on the case. I don't even know the model name. But quality seems consistent with ATH. I suspect it's a replacement case for high end ATH.

nah.... i popped down to stereo and they were offered it to me for $99 when i bought my hd650s, i suspect its a seperate, lesser known accessory

Very nice! I would say that qualifies as the 2nd best place to put your phones.... :)
I store my DX1000 in it. Banana stand doesn't work for me living with small children. I got it off an online store in Taiwan. Guy can't tell me what's the model name but assured me it was legit. Try your luck if you are interested. http://tw.page.bid.yahoo.com/tw/auction/b62381275?u=t99music
