If you use only for UM Miracle , I think it is good enough .
But with the Alo RX 3 B you can get more power in low gain and has better
Sound quality compare to direct with Fostex Hp P 1.
My second best amp for portable rig is Headstage Arrow 4 G , you can use Also
As your additional power amp for your Fostex Hp P 1

I'm hoping to make one portable rig although I do love have different toys.

If you are using a amp with the Fostex, so using the Fostex as a DAC, do you think it better than a CLAS with a amp? My thinking is if I am going to use a amp anyway, I might

as well get a dedicated DAC if I'm going to carry three pieces. Only if the SQ is better.

Not possible. The memory for the iPhones has always been directly soldered into the board. Not worth the effort trying to do such a modification. Sorry to tell you. Also, the 7th gen iPod Classic would in theory be able to handle such a SSD, but I have heard more and more people have issues with 256gb drives in their iPod Classic 7th gen's due to Apple apparently putting restrictions on the boards that make it not cooperate unless it have a proper drive in it. Basically 7th Gen iPod Classic's seem to work best with a 240gb HDD as opposed to a 256gb SSD.

I know it is not possible...This is a WANT...biggrin.gif...Gimmee more storage on the iPhone and I can leave the iPod at home....One less box to carry....

I just got a Tera Player instead. I have a microSD card holder that I can hold 10 microSD cards and an 11th in an adapter that fits nicely in my wallet. It's perfect and i have the potential for over 640gb of storage.

Don't know since one doesn't exist to look at specs. What problems with 256gb ssds? I've been using the 240gb to Toshiba hdd for 8 months now with no problems. So long as the drive is the right specs voltage wise I can't see a problem? Especially drawing voltage from HP-P1 too...

Double the size doesn't mean double the power consumption... It means more bits crammed onto the the platters, same amount of platters (2 I believe)

The different SQ between Alo Class vs Fostex Hp P 1 as DAC with ext amp :

Alo Class : overall more impact and faster than Fostex Hp P 1
It is very good for rock or classical music with many loud passage .
Bass impact from Alo Class is better than Fostex Hp P 1

Fostex Hp P1 : overall less impact and the speed slower than Alo Class
It is very good for audiophile jazz and Mandarin Auiophile, specially
The mid is sweet
For long term use I prefer Fostex Hp P 1 less fatigue .

The SQ from these two is not so big , these two Alo Class and Fostex Hp P1 has
Different sound character.
That's why I have these two dac for my collection.

As amp I use : Alo RX 3 B , Alo Continental tube amp , Arrow 4 G , Rsa RS 71 B

My friend has the Same rig like you : Alo RX 3 B > Alo Class > iPhone 4 S > LCD 2 rev 2
For the LCD 2 rev 2 and LCD 3 , this class combo is more detail and has better speed than my
Set up with Fostex Hp P 1.
Yes it is that Grado / Magnum has brighter sound Quality compare to your LCD 2
I had owned Grado Magnum and now I own now Grado HF 2 and Grado Alessandro MS Pro
Alo RX 3 B now is my best portable sounding amp for portable use

Yes, I'm getting more and more used to the more refined LCD sound and I'm starting to realize the great SQ of the RX3. Also, do you hear any hiss with your jh16s with the rx3? I've read about this, but I don't have any high end iems. Also, how come you got rid of your Magnums?

Thanks! I assume you prefer either the Continental or the RX3 over the HP-P1 as your amp....
