Pictured above is my new player with the jPhonic K2 sp IEM

Very nice, waiting on mine in the post, been 10 days already.  Killing me.

*sigh* There more I see that DAP, the more I challenge myself and my wallet. I think it's Inevitable, something I just have to own in coming months. Just glistens of potential. Slowly eating me away.....

maybe make a big show of flicking a couple of switches before putting it on the conveyor belt very_evil_smiley.gif

One could assume so. Jude did mention in his review of the HP-P1 that the amp section isn't quite powerful enough for more demanding headphones.. Or that's one heck of a waste of $650. Perhaps the balanced out had something to do with it as well.

I'm always confused as to why there are so many HP-P1/amp combos when one could simply buy the smaller CLAS instead (cheaper, I believe?)

I actually enjoy the HP-P1 as a DAC/Amp combo. It drives the HD25-1 ii's beautifully and it does a nice job with my hf3's as well....The gadget freak in me appreciates the larger stack of gear, but I do not believe I would get any appreciable improvement adding another box tot he stack...(An ALO RX Mk3 would be sweet though...very_evil_smiley.gif )

To tell you the truth I was not very impressed at first, my previous set up was a full magnumed grado and an rsa mustang with a CLAS. I was very pleased and was enjoying this rig for awhile, but I was always curious about the LCD2, so I pulled the trigger. I finally realized that the issue was not the RXMK3, but rather me being used to the magnum/grado sound, much brighter than the LCD2s.

Thank you

My friend has the Same rig like you : Alo RX 3 B > Alo Class > iPhone 4 S > LCD 2 rev 2

For the LCD 2 rev 2 and LCD 3 , this class combo is more detail and has better speed than my

Set up with Fostex Hp P 1.

Yes it is that Grado / Magnum has brighter sound Quality compare to your LCD 2

I had owned Grado Magnum and now I own now Grado HF 2 and Grado Alessandro MS Pro

Alo RX 3 B now is my best portable sounding amp for portable use

The Fostex is also an amp. Did you try it that way and found it lacking?

Fostex Hp P 1 is very good dac amp combo for IDevice , the Dac section is very good

The amp section is not so good , to drive items is o k , but to drive cans has no power

With Alo RX 3 B , become more detail and more power to drive cans like LCD 3

And Beyerdynamic T 1 and sennheiser HD 800

Rudi, I am considering the foster because its all in one, I have Miracles too is the reason I'm asking.

The Fostex Hp P 1 is one of the best dac amp combo for IDevice

If you use only for UM Miracle , I think it is good enough .

But with the Alo RX 3 B you can get more power in low gain and has better

Sound quality compare to direct with Fostex Hp P 1.

My second best amp for portable rig is Headstage Arrow 4 G , you can use Also

As your additional power amp for your Fostex Hp P 1

Are you sure drive will be driven well? There are people having problems with powering the 256GB SSD, let alone double-sized HDD. confused.gif

The drive should be fine assuming it is 3.3volts and a 64mb RAM logic board of the 5.5g iPod variety. It's uncharted territory though, never really had anyone try a 512 drive in one
