Looking to buy headphones for anthem/epic trance.

So there's nothing I enjoy more than music and decided I should look into a pair. I'm a noob as far as headphones go, I've only used **** quality junkers thus far and really can't do much to describe what I want. Anyway, I don't want to go over 160$ if possible. Though I would like some notification if there is something groundbreaking better just a few bucks more. >>

Anyway, Everyday I throw on my cheap headphones and listen to electronic music while I meditate for an hour or 2. I'm looking for qualities to enhance the experience, something to make me feel absolutely euphoric and out of my mind. I want a pair that is self sufficient without the need of an amp as I want to be able to take these outdoors. Aesthetics and Comfort are of course a factor, these headphones I have on now have me wanting to itch my ears off. I'll be using them with a portable mp3 player or computer.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm currently checking out the ATH-M50. Every review I find says they are phenomenal, better than most headphones 3x their price. Would you say they qualify for my kind of sound? If so, is there anything better than them within my price range? Thanks :)
