hi everybody, I'm searching for a headphone that are comfortable, Good sounding and have addictive low bass. Now I'm using Bose Mobile On ear headset, they're pretty good but i want to upgrade to ultrasone DJ1/DJ1 pro/ Ath M50. Which one of them have a damn good bass, better than bose's bass, with wide staging, good separation and pretty forward vocals? Help needed. thank you.

The DJ1s are basically a reshelled HFI 580s. IMO, the HFI 580s sound better than the M50s because of their tighter and louder bass, as well as more detailed mids and highs. S-Logic works in making the soundstage sound a little bigger, pretty good for a closed pair of headphones.

The M50s aren't worse, they're just a little warmer and smoother, and some say more lush. The bass quantity isn't there for bassheads, but it extends further down than the 580s.

Isolation-wise, the M50s win. At moderately low volumes, I can barely hear any bus rumble.

Don't know much about the DJ1 Pro, but I think it's a reshelled Pro 550.

And as a customary Head-Fi welcome, sorry about your wallet!

Pretty much what crinacle said. You should throw out the M50's right now if bass is a big priority. The DJ1 has more bass than the DJ1 Pro, that's what I've gathered from all the reviews and threads I've been through. I'm still not sure if you'll get the bass you want though. I've read the DJ1(HFI-580) doesn't have a HUGE difference in bass than the M50. This is all considering you are unamped. If you really are serious about bass at that price point, I would recommend the XB500/XB700, loads of bass. Otherwise, get yourself the DJ1 and buy an amp called the Digizoid ZO. Best bass boosting amp for a reasonable price. Look it up.

The DJ1 PRO has harder-hitting and cleaner bass than the ATH-M50. Never heard the DJ1. But the trend of these posts in the Ultrasone versus ATH question you posed is clear.
