Offered for sale are my AKG K1000’s, with custom-built wooden stand by Afrikane. I have had enjoyment of these for years, and they are still the best headphones I have ever heard, but these days I am just not using them. It seems obscene to keep them stagnant on a shelf, gently and depressingly gathering dust, unused and unloved. I would much prefer that they were in the hands of somebody who would actually use them...
The headphones themselves are in good condition, with some minor dings to the metal grilles, and the silvered paintwork on the plastic., as is their wooden box (black version). The ‘pigtail’ cable is functional if faded, and terminated in speaker plugs.
The biggest unique point in the sale is the stand. This was hand-built for me by Afrikane, and I an very keen that even if I no longer keep it, it stays within the head-fi community, rather than slinging it on eBay.
Asking for £650 shipped in the UK (roughly $1050 US). I would prefer to keep this a UK only sale, but would consider shipping internationally for the right buyer (with appropriately increased shipping/insurance costs).
