What's better in SQ between (CDP with an internal USBDAC) and (a combo of CDT + standalone DAC) ?

I am searching for my first stationary source around 1000$. However, I'm not sure about the concept. What's better in SQ between (CDP with an internal USBDAC) and (a combo of CDT + standalone DAC)? Most of my tracks are in my MacBook (playing with iTunes and Amarra) and there are very very few CDs (however still want to take some time to listen to them). What should be a good choice for me?

Thank you

Since most of your music in on your macbook, I think a cd player with digital input via usb would be ideal. That said, I don't know of any cd players which offer those options.

Thank you, sir.

There are some stuffs that offer that option, i.e. Marantz Pearl Lite SA Ki or audiolab 8200cd.

FYI, I am using a MacBook with TTVJ Slim as DAC and it has more details than any of my CDPs - Deckware ZCD, MMF cd25 (w/clock - zap filter), RAM mod Oppo DV980.
