need some $120ish iems

My music tastes are everything.  I love bass so a lot of that is important, but obviously quality mids/highs are important too.  They will be unamped but if I need one I could always get one later.  So, I was thinking about monster turbines.  Then I also saw something about hippo bvs and brainwavz m2, but I don't see anywhere to buy that.  I looked in the 160 or whatever iem thread, and that's just very overwhelming.  So any other suggestions?  Thanks.

Pair of Monster Turbines in the FS forum

Consider the Meelec CC51. Should satisfy everyone but bassheads. If you've ever heard the ATH-M50 the CC51 has a bit more bass quantity.

Something about buying used iems seems weird.. I have some phiaton ps500s and they say those are like the m50s.. They seem to have pretty good bass. More is always better though.

Definitely Turbines.  You can buy some refurbs directly from Monster for 50.  M2s are nice too, but they didn't fit me as well as the Turbines.

hje900's, re262', tf10's or turbine golds these all have great bass and can be found for around $120 on the for sale forums.

Some golds seem like they would be nice.  All I can find in the fs section is some for $150, which is doable, and some for $115 where the little thing under the iem thing slid down.  Also on monsters site there are refurb ones that aren't in stock.  It says they post new things on monday, wednesday and friday.  What's the chance they will list the coppers or golds or something?

That's how I got my Coppers. But I don't think it's very common just based on how much of a hubbub it made on here last time there were $100 Golds and Coppers available. If they do become available though, you'll probably be better off with the Golds. The Coppers are surprisingly balanced.

A lot of people have been getting golds/coppers recently for a 100 or a little over.  They pop up randomly so just keep checking.

I read the golds have a lot of bass but it cuts into the mids a bit.  Is that true?  The golds have more bass right?

Gold have more bass than the Coppers, but less than the original Turbines.  The coppers are more balanced for sure...but all of the Turbines have some significant bass overall.  I'm not sure any of the Pros really cut into the mids and even the original turbines only do it slightly.  You can't go wrong with any of them really.

Wait the regular ones have more bass then the golds?

Yes.  The advantage of the golds is that they are a lot more balanced overall and the bleed into the midrange is minimized compared to the originals.  There isn't much in the originals but it's minimized further in the golds and eliminated completely in the coppers.

Ah alright thanks.  I'll probably just go with the originals unless I see the golds for $100 or something.
