Hong Kong to Toronto in 2 DAYS?

Ok, it was for a pair of interconnects, so the package was small, and shipping was $15 US (maybe less, but I was charged that anyway).

Now, a recent shipment via UPS (in reverse order):

Jan 8, 2004 9:18 P.M. WINDSOR, ON, CA DEPARTURE SCAN

OOhhhh... COME ON ALREADY! It was ACTUALLY dropped off for shipping Dec. 30, I know that for a fact because that's when they gave me the tracking # - they just didn't get their arse in gear for a few days till after the holidays. Ok, in this case, this is a 30 lb package, but still, for $90 in actual shipping fees + duty + brokerage, I SHOULD have my turntable by now!!!!!!

Chillysalsa,

I experienced Ontario, CA - Hong Kong, via EMS, within 3 days, big package, two amps, RCAs:

2003/12/15 15:15 Successfully delivered
2003/12/15 13:26 Arrival in destination country
2003/12/13 13:17 Dispatched from Canada
2003/12/12 22:13 KITCHENER, ON Received/processed at sortation facility
2003/12/12 16:23 TECUMSEH, ON Received by Canada Post

It seems that they use Concorde as a cargo to/from Hong Kong. Norm wrote me, that this was quicker than to many US destinations...

Use the post pigeon instead of UPS for CA-US delivery...not for turntable of course....

It finally came yesterday....

AND WAS DAMAGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The packaging was... like, extreme too, I almost drown in those popcorns...

Luckily I was able to fix it, it turns out the motor is stuck in place via industrial strength double sided tape - and just stuck back in place really well.

I freakin hate UPS...

You do realize UPS does no pickups December 31st, only deliveries, and that they don't do either January 1st? So you lost 2 days automatically which is no real fault of theirs, I think. It would've cost you the same and arrived at the same time had it been shipped 2 days later.

Yep, that's my experience too -- UPS is the roughest on packages (compared with the Post Office, FedEx, and DHL).
