When Money Gets Tight (What do YOU do to feed the habit?)

So...Money is about to get super tight for me as I must go into super savings mode for at least the next year. My last big planned purchase is a pair of HE 6s.

Anyway...I've been thinking of a way to save my wallet in this saving process, and I think I've found it.

I'm going to start spending the small amount of free money I have on starting a retro collection. Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc has so many great gems for dirt cheap that I can no doubt poor time in to. If it has wood, refinish it...if it's dirty, clean it up, etc.

It will allow that 'new gear' feeling, with a semi-cheap price tag. Plus, who knows, maybe I'll find some things I'll keep for years and years.
Basically, anyone else in the same boat? Money getting tight, but you still want to be involved in Head-Fi somehow? What do YOU do?

Usually I would cut down on unnecessary expenses that I could live without. For me that means places like starbucks and make my own coffee at home. Also I could limit the amount of times I eat out and cook instead. I'm just too lazy to do that most of the time but if I was tight on money those would go first.

Yeah, same problem.  I just charge it to my credit card and then call the card company and tell them my card was stolen.

I have a box of korean instant noodles as my indulging meal. I have a box of cup noodles as my everyday meal. I add vienna sausages, eggs, and cheese in the korean noodles to make a very satisfying meal a couple times a week.

I've been doing this as well recently. I've sold a ton of stuff that I simplt don't use anymore. 1 of my 2 desktops, Xbox, Midi Controller, etc. It's kind of refreshing to know you don't have unused stuff just sitting around...

I know how to eat cheap. This is pretty much what I plan on doing. Adding a little bit of meat to a cut o' noodles makes it SO MUCH BETTER.

What are your favorite toppings? I tried sliced ham and hot dogs, but found SPAM to be the best. SPAM is too expensive though to have every week though.

Cheap way to go is actually to buy one of those giant spiral sliced hams. You get SO MUCH FOOD out of those things. I'm halfway through one after about a week of feeding myself with various ham based dishes.

Another way I've found to spice up noodles is to get a huge bag of frozen shrimp and drop some of those bad boys in there every now and then. Buying in bulk really pays off.

I read somewhere that you only need one kidney. I might try that soon.

At least shrimp would be less salt in my already salty diet. Will cost more though. I did notice that I get a lot more salt and stomache related bathroom issues. I've kind of accepted that as a normal part of my daily routine.

A friend of mine has posted on Face Book that he is driving around Orange County California and picking up electronic waste today. Who knows how many 70s super tuners our buddies do not want. Last year a friend gave me an entire B/O system, it had those giant silver towers which I needed to get a van to take home. Tweeking the stuff you own now is a great way to get sound improvements. I'm currently messing around with car audio. That stuff is dirt cheep used!

My professor from awhile back suggested peanut butter and cup noodles... I'm a bit too afraid to try that combo...
