You can start looking for really well recorded/mastered songs, they are out there.  There are songs out there that make you go wooooow when you hear them for the first time through higher-end headphones.  I agree, no critical dissecting or analyzing needed, just appreciate and enjoy.  As for the 'crappy' stuff (I quote it because it can be subjective) they tend to not sound so impressive even with higher-end headphones or other audio equipment.
