Help with the decision

Hi to everyone on this forum. Right now I have a cowon j3 and I am very pleased with it. I'm travelling to the U.S and I am planning to buy the Ultrasone Pro900 and a Pico slim portable amp.

So basically I wanted to know if it would be a better idea if I buy an iphone 4 with a lod to pair with my new equipment(pro900+pico) or stay with my cowon j3 and pair it with the previously mencioned equipment. Of course if I buy the iphone I would sell the cowon J3(I  can`t have them both because I need the money)

 

I also would like to know if there are better options for a amp+full size headphone combo than the pro900+pico my budget por this(headphone+amp) is 800$ and I like to hear progressive rock, techno, jazz and latin music.

If you already own the J3 stick with it.

Thank you for your response but if I buy the iPhone I would have to sell the J3 I can`t stick with both of themfrown.gif  Even that do you still recommend me the cowon vs the iphone with lod

Best question to ask yourself is if you need a new phone or not.

Esteban- ask yourself this simple question.

Do I want a DAP or a phone?

If you want to listen to music, on the move with the equipment that you mentioned stay with the J3.

If you want an iPhone 4, go buy an iPhone 4.

I feel maybe I am missing something subtle here,'so apologies if I sound harsh/difficult/stupid.

Thank you very much. Yeah I really I think I will keep my cowon J3 or even update to a cowon x7. I wanted to ask you Carlosfandango if there is a better option to the pro 900 and the pico amp because I saw that ibasso are cheapier amps so I could spend a little bit more in the headphone

I really cannot comment on the PICO or 900's as I haven't heard either.

If you ask the question is there a better amp? People will come to this thread and say yes there is, others will come and say no there isn't.

There are different amps, with different characteristics, different features etc. Are some better than others? To my ears yes, but maybe not to your ears.

Cheaper amp for more expensive phones?

Personally I'd say spend more on your phones (but then I listen to JH16's) and get a cheaper amp. But 1 year ago I would have told you to buy some Audeo Phonak PFE's and spend more on your amp.

I'm REALLY not trying to be difficult or to confuse you in any way .... But we all hear differently and we are all at different stages on our Audeo journey.

Let me finish by saying this, is the Pro 900's + J3 + PICO a bad setup?
